Description

The Department of Local Government and Community Services was created as a result of administrative change from two Departments: the Department of Local Government and Regions, and the Department of Community Services.
The Department's stated primary role was to 'build stronger regions and communities through effective local government; to deliver and coordinate critical and essential infrastructure projects and services to remote communities; and provide interpreting and translating services to support members of the community who speak a language other than English'.
